So you've Shot your film . . . Now What !?!
Do you want the companion online course to the Smartphone Directors (mini) Movie Making Course? (You'll never see this offer anywhere else!)
I hated people asking me what's my secret, how do you make so many movies and TV shows all at once? And I hated people asking me because they never believed a word I said, or they asked me in front of the criminals, and of course I clammed up and under played everything or denied it completely. But mostly I told the truth in that if people asked me what I was doing I would just say 'filming' and they didn't see cameras so the thought me to be lying. Or I would say what I was doing, ie: washing the car (in prep for the film but didn't say that!) or whatever else I was doing for the film but just explained the task. If people didn't understand I didn't waste time explaining, each question was time away from the film!.
Admittedly, I knew that most people didn't understand why I stood watch nothing, and I couldn't bear anything to go wrong so I didn't say I was watching the film from afar. I mostly couldn't risk people finding the actors and or the crew and creating attention and alerting the saboteurs to the fact that I was shooting a boring and tricky shot of the roof, which wasn't boring in the film but to explain and give away the story or the actors, I just couldn't do that.
And I hated people asking me because I didn't know what to say, each film was different I just got on with it. Now I think if it's out in the open (which it has been before) I won't be guilty of monopolising the knowledge I've amassed on the journey. 🎬
And while it is true, I don't edit that much when I'm in the full swing of things, at the beginning of a film cycle when I am practicing and practicing to hone my craft into something I can show the studios, so they take my footage of a feature film or TV show and the professional editors work their magic on top of my raw uncut footage. I edit loads!
I have had to practice editing to quite a high standard to get the studios to believe that I have the talent to deliver footage that will turn into something special.
Because when I have a finished blockbuster, they don't mind dealing with that! 🍾 It's just the before bit!
And how do I get the film studios or the television studios proof? Simple, I make films, and I practice and practice until they're just right. In The Smartphones' Directors (mini) Film Making Course I have outlined my tricks that are really techniques or processes that I would sometimes do, as I say, each film is different, but mainly I follow the same process to create a great story for film, and then I make it, I may change the story line if I have a distraction in my film or if I end up with different actors or have to change sets.
